The whole truth and nothing but YOUR truth.

Seeker of all things true. Kelly Rae Roberts
WEEKEND RECAP
Saturday's 16 mile training walk route is a keeper! We walked places I have never been even though I grew up in SF. When we started walking it was socked in drippy, wet fog and cccold at the Arguello Gate of the Presidio but it did not dampen our spirits at all! We started by heading out on Argullo on through GG Park, out to the Sunset via 9th and Irving. Then we walked up Stanyan Street and then around Sutro Tower on the Historic Trail which was magical (and muddy) enveloped in fog.
From there we pushed on to Portola Dr. and down through the hidden gem Glen Canyon Park (well, hidden to me until today.) After a bit of a hiccough in navigating the route, we walked back across town through Noe Valley, the Castro, Duboce Park, the Panhandle, the Conservatory of Flowers and then we headed, like cows to the barn, back up Arguello! Today's route will forever be nicknamed "The Grocery Route" because our breaks were at Andronico's, Mollie Stones/Tower Market and Whole Foods! We heart snacks.
Sunday's walk was such a treat! We had Juliana Cochnar, Development Manager, and Stephanie Gee, Board Member, of at the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund join us on our 12 mile walk. We walked UP the Chestnut Stair and down curvy Lombard, then UP to Coit Tower, down the Greenwich & Filbert St stairs and on to the Ferry Plaza. Then we walked - for the first time ever - down super urban Howard Street through SOMA... to our second break at the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund offices where we were greeted by staff with snacks.
It was such an inspiring visit. We learned about its history, what they do, where their funding comes from and who their clients are. What an incredible place! BCEF serves 450 low-income people each year with emergency funds for basic living expenses: essential utilities, housing expenses, uninsured medical expenses, basic nutrition and funeral expenses. They had signs up in the office, "Every penny counts!" That is a message we can all take to heart as we continue to fundraise knowing our efforts truly help the under-served.

WEEKLY INSPIRATION
I have been thinking a lot lately about personal truth; what it is to be "true" to yourself, to speak your truth and live out your truth in action and deed. No one else knows your truth. No one can give it to you or tell you what your truth should be. No one can diminish your truth.

Your truth is new, each moment of every day. Your truth can change too! For me, one way to be in your truth is by following your heart, listening to the soft whispers of your intuition, taking heed of the feelings in your gut, speaking with integrity and living honestly - all of that good stuff that can happen when we step off the ferris wheel of busy, modern living. You don't have to "keep up with the Jonses", keep up with yourself!

When we live presently and fully in our truth, it honors all of the people we encounter in our lives. It rubs off in a positive way, leaving this world a little "sparkelier." We feel joy, beauty, peace and calm when we are living our truth. Continually re-calibrate your internal compass to learn your personal truth and be able to live it!

10 REASONS TO NEVER GIVE UP From http://inspirinquotes.tumblr.com/
1. As long as you are alive, anything is possible. The only valid excuse you have to give up is if you are dead. As long as you are alive (and healthy and free) you have the choice to keep trying until you finally succeed.
2. Be realistic. The chance of mastering something the first time you do it is almost non-existent. Everything takes time to learn and you will make mistakes. Learn from them.
3. You are strong. You are stronger than you think. One little setback is not enough to stop you from achieving your goals. Neither are 10 or 100 or 1000 setbacks.
4. Prove yourself. You don’t want to be known as someone that is weak and gives up. Go out there and prove yourself to the world and to yourself. You CAN and WILL achieve what you set out to do. The only time you fail is when you give up.
5. Believe in your dreams. Don’t sell yourself short. In life there are going to be many people who will try to bring you down and tell you what you want to achieve is not possible.
6. Your family and friends. Let the people you love and who mean the world to you be your inspiration to persist and persevere. Maybe you need to try a different angle, study more or practice more but don’t give up!
7. There are people worse-off. Right now there are many people who are in a worse situation and environment than you are. Are you thinking about giving up running 5 miles a week? Think about the people who are unable to even walk and how much they would give to be able to run 5 miles every day.
8. You deserve to be happy. Don’t ever let anybody tell you otherwise. You deserve to be happy and you deserve to have success. Keep that mindset and never give up until you reach your destination!
9. Inspire others. Be an inspiration to others by refusing to give up. Who knows what someone else can achieve because you never gave up and in turn inspired them not to give up.
10. You are so close. Often when you feel like you want to give up you are so close to making a huge breakthrough. You are just a heartbeat away from success.
