good day, sunshine!

Well, I am up early this Sunday morning with another 20 miles on the docket! (It was not easy getting up at 4:30 a.m. after a long, hard, wet walk from the day before.) On the second day of our Back to Back weekend we walk from San Francisco in the Marina, over the Golden Gate Bridge all of the way to Tiburon. It's always a challenging but terrific walk and I hope the day will be sunny and warm. (C'mon weather forecast... be accurate!)

We head into the Presidio in the misty fog - our first hill climb is up through the Presidio Cemetary which is quite a beautiful spot with gorgeous view out over the way.

Heading uphill. It's misty and magical here today with the moon up in the western sky.

Oh, would you look at that? The sun is trying to burn off that pesky fog! Fingers and toes are crossed.

Sandy & Sharla in matching walking shoes!

We made it to the bridge plaza and the fog has burned off! Hooray!
I notice we are all wearing bright, bright colors to ward off the rainy skies. Seems like it worked.

I have now walked across the bridge many, many times in the 11 years I have led training walks  (it is always beautiful crossing, unless it's socked in fog and howling winds) but this sunrise view was just so awe inspiring. Love my city! Oh yes, I am going to walk 20 miles today. Yes, I am!

Beatrice and Lizelle are happy to be almost across the bridge.

Headed down to Sausalito via Conzelman Road.

It is promising to be a spectacular day. Look at that view as we head under the bridge.

Picture postcard perfect!

A wisp of a belt of fog.

Hey Trina, you don't have to go all of the way to Africa to see lions and zebras. We've got them right here at the pumpkin patch!

Not sure why this is the Tiki Corner... I'll have to come back sometime and see if they have happy hour.

To mix it up a bit we are heading down a waterfront path I found... did you know there is a beach in Sausalito? People were heading out on paddle boards and kayaks. Fun!

Our walk slogan has been stolen by this print shop. Hmmm.... #mighty

Our 10 mile break at Mollie Stones! We will sit, eat, drink, don fresh socks & stretch before hitting the last 10 miles.

Look at this long legged beauty on the Marin Bothin Reserve path.

And this is our final hill of this trek - up Ricardo in Strawberry. Nazi & Judy finish strong.

What goes up, must come down. And down after this many miles is sort of painful! Hello quads, engage!

Oh yes! We are at our final break before the last 3.25 mile stretch (which feels much, much longer) into Tibruon. Monica & her friend Alexi just made the day providing awesome route support. Thanks so much for the encouragement, delish snacks and making sure our water bottles were always full.

On the Tiburon Linear Path - you can look across the bay and see where we started walking earlier in the day. Pretty darn impressive!!

Sandy kicking it into high gear... she must be thinking about lunch at Sam's.

Wooohooo! 20 miles done & dusted. The holy grail: Sam's Anchor Cafe.  Now, bring on the best onion rings and a spicy Bloody Mary.

We started talking about what drink we were going to order at 9:30 in the morning. A well-earned victory meal is in order for sure. Feeling pretty mighty, indeed!

We ordered lunch,  scarfed down food, slurped our drinks, paid our check and made it onto the ferry with just a minute to spare. The views today are just divine. Hazy fog, sparkling water and a nice salty breeze.

Ummm, dude, we are trying to take one last cute group photo!!

What a memorable weekend with a group of incredible women. Can't imagine spending this time with anyone else. We sure did rock it. We are mighty!!

And, while we were out walking lots of donations came it. What a way to cap our Back to Back weekend! we are now at $60,000 on our way to our $125,00 goal. This shows when we combine our walking and our donors generosity we are a powerful force... every dollar counts. THANK YOU everyone for your hard work, contributing to this effort and helping make an impact

Oh, and lest you think I wall all these miles without it taking it's toll... my first blister in maybe 5 years. Go big or go home!
